GILDED UI 1.16.1 - navy and gold dungeon interface
for WoW Forever (Interface 16001) and Retail (Interface 120100 / 120105)

INSTALL
The same folder works in both clients. Copy GildedUI to either or both of:
  World of Warcraft\_forever_\Interface\AddOns\GildedUI
  World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\GildedUI
Restart the game (a /reload does not pick up brand-new addon folders).

RETAIL DIFFERENCES
- Talent card: appears when you have class, spec or hero points to spend.
With a Starter Build active it names the next talent; otherwise it points
you to the talent screen. The summary card shows spec · hero talents,
your loadout name, and spec / hero / role icons.
- The action bar also switches to vehicle, override and skyriding bars.
- Class resources (Holy Power, combo points, Chi, Soul Shards, Arcane
Charges, Essence, runes) show as gold pips under the player card.
- If you use raid-style party frames, those are hidden too while the party
cards are on (hideBlizzard.party in Config.lua).
If the AddOns list says "out of date", tick "Load out of date AddOns".

WHAT YOU GET
- Status banner, top left: "DUNGEON READY · LEVEL 60" (instance name inside a
dungeon, PARTY OF n while forming a group, zone name when solo).
- Party cards on the left: portrait, level badge, role/class badge, green
health and blue mana with "current / max" numbers. Labels are TANK, HEALER,
DPS 1... when roles are assigned, otherwise names. Out-of-range members fade.
- Large player ("YOU") and target cards above the action bar. Left-click
targets, right-click opens the unit menu. Combo points (Rogue, Druid in cat
form) show as gilded orbs above the player card, right-aligned: every point
is always drawn (size adjustable in the settings), lit ones glow gold, and when all are lit they flare and
pulse until you spend them. On Forever they follow your current target,
  as in the original game.
- Gilded action bar: slots 1-4 large, 5-8 smaller and 9-12 smallest (the
third row can be turned off in the settings), with bevelled gold frames,
keybind tags and a name plate under each button. It pages like the default bar (stances,
stealth, Shift+number) and uses the keys bound to Action Button 1-12.
Drag spells on/off as usual (hold Shift if your bars are locked).
- "Talent point available" card with the next suggested talent and an
Open talents button, plus a summary card such as
"38 Protection / 13 Retribution" with three key talents.
- Threat meter (bottom right) for you and your party against your target,
shown solo too (switch in the settings).
- Gold ring, zone banner and clock on the minimap; gilded chat panel and tabs.
- Loot sparkles:
  * Quest items always show the game's loot sparkle, even after a graphics
preset turns it off (it is set again about a second later, after combat).
  * Herbs and ore veins get gold glints and their gathering icon as you
approach (Blizzard soft targeting, up to about 15 yards, one node at a
time). Dim out of reach, a bright flare once in reach, grey when your
skill is too low. Quest objects can get the same, off by default.
- Tank line (Paladin and Warrior; lists in Config.lua): your short buffs
such as Holy Shield, your seal or Shield Block slide along a gold line
from the moment they land to the moment they expire, with the time left
and their charges/stacks on the icon. Consecration is timed from the cast.
Abilities off cooldown sit above the line, and a red note calls out a
missing Righteous Fury, no seal, or Forbearance (with NO BULWARK while it
stops Templar's Bulwark). In a group fight, an enemy attacking someone
else is called out in red (LOOSE » HEALER, or their name) with the taunt
to press in gold: JUDGEMENT, or SWIFT JUDGEMENT » JUDGEMENT while
Judgement is on cooldown (Warriors: Taunt, then Mocking Blow). It reads
enemy nameplates, so turn those on; without them only your target counts.
Shown while tanking (shield equipped, or a tank spec on Retail). Drag it
  with Move panels.
- Instance tank check (Protection Paladin, in dungeons and raids): a
closable window listing Righteous Fury, Seal of Fury, a blessing (Kings or
your assigned one), Devotion or Retribution Aura, and a one-handed weapon
with a shield, shown when any is missing (after combat). It closes itself
once all are fine and comes back in the next instance or on a new problem.
Its "Make macros" button (or /gilded macros) creates the macros whose
spells you know: GU Taunt (Judgement on your mouseover enemy, else your
target), GU Seal (Seal of Fury), GU Ally (Blessing of Freedom on your
mouseover ally, else your target; Shift for Blessing of Protection) and
GU Undead (Exorcism; Shift for Holy Wrath).
In combat the tank line calls out, in gold, HOLY SHIELD READY, HAMMER OF
WRATH (target at 20% or less) and HOLY WRATH (Undead or Demon target), and
in red counts down your seal's last 5 seconds. Hammer of Wrath, Holy Wrath
and Exorcism only join the ready row when they apply.
"Arrange bar" (or /gilded arrange) puts Judgement, Holy Strike,
Consecration, Holy Shield on the top row; Hammer of Justice, Templar's
Bulwark, a self-heal and Lay on Hands below; Swift Judgement, Hammer of
Wrath, GU Undead and GU Ally on the third row. Spells you don't know yet
fall back to older ones (Divine Protection, Righteous Defense).
- Tank ready check (/gilded tank): Defense skill, tank buffs, aura and
blessing, Well Fed, flask/elixir, potions in your bags, shield and weapon,
and which gear slots are missing an enchant.
- Blizzard frames (/gilded frames): move, scale or hide buffs, debuffs,
cast bar, quest tracker, micro menu, bags, XP bar, extra bars, alerts,
loot rolls, error text and more, or "Pick a frame" and click anything on
screen. In Move panels mode they get blue handles: drag to move, mouse
wheel to scale, Shift+right-click to hide, right-click to put back.
- Class icons above players' nameplates (BetterBlizzPlates style): round
class crest in a gold ring, red-tinted for enemies. Separate switches for
enemies and friends, and a size setting. On Retail, Blizzard hides
nameplate details inside dungeons, so icons may not show there.
- Marker wheels (inspired by EasyMarks Forever): the eight painted raid
marks (Media/Marks) floating around the mouse with soft shadows, and a
small gold X in the middle. Click a mark to put it on your target, the X
  to clear it; right-click or
  Escape closes the wheel. A second wheel places ground (world) markers;
its centre clears them all. Open them:
    - with keys: Esc > Options > Keybindings > Gilded UI has "Raid marker
wheel", "Target mouseover and open the marker wheel" and "Ground
marker wheel". These work in combat. No keys are set for you.
    - by double-clicking a Gilded target, player or party frame (also in
      combat);
    - with /gilded marks or /gilded ground (out of combat).
Out of combat a wheel closes by itself after a few seconds away from it.
Settings > Combat HUD > Marker wheel size scales both wheels (60-140%).
A friendly player's raid mark shows just above Gilded UI's class icon,
which would otherwise cover the nameplate's own mark.
Marking follows the game's rules: ground markers need a group, raid marks
need lead or assist in a raid.
- Loot and vendors (settings > Loot and vendors, one switch each):
Fast loot: with the game's Auto Loot on, everything is taken the moment
the loot window opens. Shift still loots by hand.
Sell junk: opening a vendor sells every grey item in your bags; chat
shows the count and gold. The Buyback tab undoes a sale.
Repair: opening a vendor who repairs mends all your gear, from guild
funds first when your guild allows it, and prints the cost.
- Experience bar on the bottom strip in place of Blizzard's: gold fill,
rested experience in blue ahead of it, ten segments, and level, XP and
rested numbers when you hover it. At the level cap it shows your watched
reputation instead. Move it with Move panels.
- Blizzard's cast bar sits just above the gilded action bar and follows it
when you move the bar, unless you place the cast bar yourself with the
frame mover. Config.lua: actionbar.castBarAbove = false turns this off.
- Spell drawers (right of the action bar, Paladins and Warriors): one
button each for blessings, seals and auras (shouts for Warriors) instead
  of a bar slot per spell. Left-click casts the spell on its face;
right-click opens the drawer. Click a spell in the drawer to cast it and
keep it on the face, or right-click it to keep it without casting. Works
in combat. Out of combat an open drawer closes when the mouse leaves it.
Only spells you know appear. Move it with Move panels; lists are in
  Config.lua (drawers).
- Drawer macros: make a macro, put #gilded:drawer in it, then one line per
  entry starting with #:
      #gilded:drawer
      #/cast Blessing of Kings
      #/use Hearthstone
      #/use item:6948
      #/use mount:240
Put the macro on any bar. Pressing it (click or key) opens a flyout of
those entries at your mouse; click one to use it. Escape or a click
elsewhere closes it. Works in combat. Gilded UI adds a /click line to the
end of the macro to make this work; leave it there. /gilded drawer makes
an example macro, GU Drawer, to edit.
- Gilded Journal (/gilded journal, Ctrl-click or middle-click the minimap
button): the dungeon, profession and Protection Paladin guides inside
the game, next to your own numbers. Left column: Defense, hit and
expertise against the level 60 targets, durability, free bag slots,
Well Fed, potions and your profession skills. Tabs:
Dungeons: a "before you leave" checklist (repair, bag space, food,
potions and group roles tick themselves), every dungeon coloured by
your level, with travel routes, quests for your faction, bosses to tick
(a kill ticks itself) and trash to watch for the four new leveling
dungeons and for Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns, the Deadmines,
Shadowfang Keep, the Stockade and Blackfathom Deeps. Notes merge the
    Wowhead and Method (method.gg) guides.
Professions: your skill in each, where you are on the route, rank
unlocks and trainers with a Map button that drops a map pin, camp
features you've unlocked, and a progress checklist.
Protection (Paladins): stats against boss targets, enchants per slot,
consumables in your bags, Phase 1 best in slot with what you wear,
talent builds (Link gives the address to copy) and the rotation.
The guide text is beta information checked 30 October 2026.
- Minimap button: left-click opens the settings window, right-click moves
the panels, Ctrl-click opens the journal, drag it around the minimap. The window is also under
Esc > Options > AddOns > Gilded UI and /gilded options.

SETTINGS WINDOW
Categories on the left (Interface parts, Layout, Action bar, Tanking,
Combat HUD, Nameplates, Loot sparkles, Minimap), that category's options in
the middle, and on the right a description of whatever the mouse is over,
which parts are running and a Reload button when a change needs one. Test
mode and Journal sit at the bottom left. Choices made there are saved and
win over Config.lua.

CONFIG.LUA
For what the window doesn't cover, open Config.lua in a text editor: turn modules on/off, keep any Blizzard frame,
change button rows/sizes, add captions such as "Stun" / "Defensive" under the
second row, add extra keys such as Q / E / R / SHIFT-R, edit the talent route.
Save and /reload.

NOTES
- Font: Roboto Condensed by The Roboto Project Authors, from Google Fonts,
under the SIL Open Font License (Media/Fonts/OFL.txt). Medium for text,
Bold for titles; only Gilded UI's own text uses it. If a font file can't
be loaded, that text uses the game's font instead. The font files are in
  Media/Fonts; Core.lua (ns.font, ns.fontBold) picks them.
- Use either Gilded UI or the "At Your Pace" concept layout (Bartender4 / SUF
profiles), not both at once, or you will get two sets of bars and frames.
The At Your Pace guide itself can stay enabled. The same goes for any other
action bar or unit frame addon.
- The default cast bar, buffs, micro menu, bags, XP bar and quest tracker are
left where Blizzard puts them until you tick them under Blizzard frames.
A frame managed there ignores Edit Mode; untick it to hand it back.
- Moving Blizzard action bars (pet, stance, extra bars) waits until combat
ends. If you see "Interface action failed" after moving one, untick it.
- Forever has no Holy Power; paladin charges such as Holy Shield show as a
number on the tank line icon instead.
- The target card has no buff/debuff icons (aura data is restricted in combat
on this client); nameplates still show them.
- Loot sparkles change some console variables (listed in Sparkles.lua) and
put your own values back when you untick them. Untick them before removing
the addon; otherwise pick a graphics preset again and restart the game.
Turning off "Quest item sparkles" only takes effect after a game restart.
- Don't use Loot sparkles together with Forever Loot Sparkles or Lueur; they
change the same settings. Turn off one or the other.
- With the third row off, slots 9-12 still work through their keybinds.
For more than 12 buttons, show Blizzard's bottom-left bar in Edit Mode and
place it with Blizzard frames (/gilded frames).
